Born in Paestum, Italy — a historic coastal town in the province of Salerno, within the Campania region renowned worldwide for Mozzarella di Bufala — Nunzio Merola was raised in a culture deeply rooted in Mediterranean food traditions, hospitality, and family values.

In the early 1960s, his family immigrated to the United States through the Port of New York, eventually settling in Far Hills, New Jersey.
